Wikis
What is a wiki?
A wiki is a webpage or collection of webpages that can be edited collaboratively by anyone with access. Wikis are used by groups to quickly edit shared text, including links, images and other data. The most famous wiki is the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia.
Why use a wiki in my class?
Wikis in Blackboard allow students to collaboratively construct websites as part of class content. Students can work together on a website for your class from separate locations, 24 hours/day. A 'history' function keeps track of all edits. With wikis, making edits is easy. Authors utilize a text editor similar to most word processors.
Text, images, links and multimedia can all be incorporated into the wiki.
